Wisdom From the Caregiver Trenches
You're invited! Whether you're a caregiver or simply know someone who is, you'll be encouraged, enlightened and inspired.
Join us for an insightful, honest discussion as four of my fellow caregivers and myself share stories, personal perspectives, and wisdom from the trenches. We will talk about the challenges of being a caregiver, strategies for caregiver self-care, and the power of storytelling in the caregiving journey.
I’ll be reading one of the poems from my chapter, “Holding the Ache of Reality”, in our book, The Caregiver Chronicles.
Featuring family caregiver authors: Wendy Lew Toda, Makeba Pease, Karen Klink, Debbie Tynan, and Parissa Kermani. Moderated by Paolina Milana, the fearlessly brilliant book coach who shepherded all 22 of us through the book-writing process and helped us see the value in sharing our stories.
Thursday August 15, 2024
6-7:30pm at The Kensington Sierra Madre, 245 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.
Light refreshments will be served.
Whether it’s a grandparent, a parent, a sibling, a spouse, or anyone you consider to be “family”… Being a caregiver to someone who no longer can care for themselves is challenging. It’s full of physical demands and emotional stresses… and so many rewards. Family caregivers are unpaid and unsung heroes; this book is dedicated to them. With 22 family caregivers sharing their personal stories in this book, these voices offer insights, inspiration, and a reality check about those ties that bind. All proceeds are donated to charity.
