“Discover Your Mental Wellness”

Creating community art together at the Monterey Park Mental Health and Wellness Fair, in partnership with Chinatown Service Center. People were invited to bring their hopes, prayers, wishes, and blessings to these paintings. Tears and even anger were also welcome. We wrote/drew on gold washi tape and placed it to help repair the gash created in our community by the Lunar New Year’s Eve incident in Monterey Park. My community has wept many tears over all that has been lost. I'm grateful to be able to bring an experience of art that offered a nonverbal way we can begin to heal the grief we carry.

Thank you to all 113 people who participated in their choice of language!
